THE recently opened Machines for Africa Kwekwe branch, a sub-dealership of Agricon, is expected to revitalise the mining and agriculture sectors through the supply of machines and equipment.
The one-stop shop supplies earth-moving and agricultural machinery as well as a wide range of products including spares and lubricants.
Speaking during the official opening of the shop in Kwekwe, Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, Owen Ncube said the development dovetails with President Mnangagwa’s strategic policy thrust to modernise and industrialise the economy in line with Vision 2030.

“Under our visionary leader, His Excellency President Mnangagwa’s people-centric and life-changing initiatives, the Midlands Province leveraged on the macro-economic stability and abundant mineral resources, arable land and favourable climate to leapfrog its provincial economy as evidenced by a 10,9 percent GDP growth rate in 2022 underpinned by mining, agriculture, construction, retail and tourism,” he said.
Minister Ncube said the opening of the shop was a direct response to the Second Republic’s appeal for the private to complement Government efforts to create jobs and grow the economy.
“You are bringing in tools in the form of plant and equipment, new skills and technology to boost production as we work to modernise and industrialise our country,” he said.
Minister Ncube said Government adopted Education 5.0 model whose emphasis is on teaching, research, community service, innovation and industrialisation hence its institutions of higher learning made up of universities and colleges are churning out graduates that are relevant to commerce and industry.
“I want at this juncture to applaud Machines for Africa for providing tractors, front-end loaders, excavators, dumpers, planters and fertiliser spreaders among other equipment. The company also provides back up spares and has a team of highly qualified workers undertaking the repairs,” he said.
Minister Ncube said the company supports the Second Republic’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind as its business stretches from Chegutu to Victoria Falls.
Machines for Africa Director, Mr Safraaz Ramjee thanked the Second Republic for creating opportunities for its citizens.
“We want to commend Government for its commitment to grow the mining and agricultural sectors which are key to the country’s quest to modernise and industrialise,” said Mr Ramjee.
He said the country was witnessing growth of industries which he attributed to Government’s promotion of science and innovation.
Mr Ramjee said his company is committed to upholding high standards of integrity.
“As we embark on this new chapter, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and customer satisfaction. We want people to enjoy our services and our partnership with Agricon underscores our commitment to offering you machinery renowned for its reliability and excellent performance,” he said.
The Midlands province is the country’s mining hub so the coming in of Machines for Africa has brought mining tools close to the miners.
